In a joint effort, singer-songwriter Becky G and beverage brand Vita Coco have created a new 2,100-square-foot green space at Oak Street Elementary School in Inglewood, California. This collaborative project, designed in partnership with the school's Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and local community leaders, features a variety of eco-friendly elements, including garden plots, compost bins, fruit trees, and an outdoor classroom.
The initiative is part of Vita Coco's social impact program, the Vita Coco Project, which is dedicated to empowering communities and promoting sustainable practices. By transforming a previously underutilized area within the school grounds, the new green space aims to provide students and the surrounding community with an engaging and educational outdoor learning environment.
The project aligns with Becky G's commitment to supporting her local community and advocating for environmental stewardship. Through this collaborative effort, the artist, Vita Coco, the school, and the Inglewood community have come together to create a tangible positive impact, fostering environmental awareness and hands-on learning opportunities for the students and residents.
