The City of Inglewood Celebrates the Life of Arrick "Dobby" Turner

Arrick "Dobby Tucker", passed away while on a fishing trip on January 11, 2020, doing what he loved.

As an Inglewood Parks, Recreation, and Community Recreational Supervisor at Rogers and Darby Parks, he would spearhead many events including Darby Parks Kids Summer Camp, Fishing, and Juneteenth. He also helped to facilitate many new activities and programs. He would say " Is it about the kids? well, write it up in a proposal ".

Dobby fed and helped the homeless. He gave men and women dignity during their time of need. He would often say

" We could all be in their shoes"

After graduating from Morningside High School he went on to work for the City of Inglewood in their Parks and Recreation Department. For over 30 years he dedicated life to the youth and the community of Inglewood.

Dobby pride himself on being an amazing cook. Often winning the City of Inglewood chili cook-off. Inglewood Mayor announced The Garden at Rogers Park will forever be known as Arrick "Dobby" Turner Garden.

Dobby leaves behind his mother Peggy Cansler, wife Maquenta Turner, his children Arrick, Kamryn and Tiffany and grandchildren who fondly called him “Grumpy”. Countless friends, work colleagues, Etc.. and an entire community Rest in Peace. #wood
