Kia Forum and Hollywood Park File Lawsuit Against Inglewood Over Billboard Contract

By: Eye On Inglewood Staff Writer

The Kia Forum and Hollywood Park entertainment complex have initiated legal action against the city of Inglewood, claiming that the city’s recent 40-year billboard agreement with WOW Media breaches existing development agreements. They argue that this deal poses a significant threat to revenue generation, overall aesthetics, and upcoming international events scheduled at their venues.

According to the lawsuit, the contract with WOW Media purportedly allows for the installation of digital signs and screens around the entertainment venues, violating the city's agreements with both the Kia Forum and Hollywood Park. The agreement reportedly grants WOW Media exclusive signage rights for up to four decades while limiting any competing signage to within 2,500 feet of the venues. Under this contract, Inglewood is expected to receive 40% of the gross revenues generated from these advertisements.
